DHT11 Specifications:
Where to Use the DHT11 Sensor:
The DHT11 is widely used for measuring temperature and humidity. It includes an NTC thermistor for temperature measurement and an 8-bit microcontroller to deliver temperature and humidity readings as serial data. This sensor is ideal for applications requiring measurements within the ranges of 0°C to 50°C for temperature and 20% to 90% for humidity, with an accuracy of ±1°C and ±1%.
How to Use the DHT11 Sensor:
The DHT11 sensor is pre-calibrated, making it easy to use. It communicates through a single data pin that connects to an I/O pin of a microcontroller unit (MCU). A 5K pull-up resistor is required on the data line. This data pin provides both temperature and humidity values as serial data. For easy integration with an Arduino, there are pre-built libraries available.
When interfacing with an MCU, the sensor's datasheet provides details on the output, which consists of 8-bit integer and decimal values for both humidity and temperature, followed by an 8-bit parity bit. To initiate communication, the MCU must briefly pull the data pin low, then set it high as specified in the timing diagram.
